This project presents chants from the Divine Liturgies of St John Chrysostom and St Basil the Great. You will find examples and score videos of everything from Ektenie (Litanies) to Cherubic Hymn settings and Troparion settings. The selection is by no means exhaustive, and we expect to add more music over time.

We have deliberately chosen to present SIMPLE settings, to help new choirs familiarize themselves with the sound and feel of Orthodox Christian Church Singing in English without requiring an excess of "dazzle." We intend to show simple and accessible pieces of music performed at a beautiful and reverent level as a set of examples for how a choirmaster and singers may wish to proceed.

The style in which these selections are offered is suggested as a "middle of the road" standard. As conductors and choirs advance, they may develop their own interpretations of how the Liturgy is sung. We hope to offer a good starting point.

There are two types of hymns offered: Fixed and Occasional. Fixed hymns do not change according to the day or feast, and Occasional hymns do. Occasional Hymns are indicated by the red buttons below; the fixed are with green buttons.
